Team Katusha

“Russian Global Cycling Project” is Team Katusha’s working title.

On the one hand, the title refers to the idea of introducing promising young Russian riders to pro cycling; on the other, to the efforts of the team’s Pro Tour division to clinch victory at the highest international level.

Experienced pros such as Classics specialist Filippo Pozzato, all-rounder Sergey Ivanov or circuit expert Joaquim Rodríguez intend to be out there in the lead, competing with the best in the top races of the year.

The international team will include a winning contender from its own ranks in nearly every race. And its team of trainers is of the same high calibre. Alongside former top-class racing cyclist and ex-champion Team Manager Andrei Tchmil stands sprinter star Mario Cipollini, for example, ready to offer the team’s sprinters important tips for the final kilometers of any race.

FOCUS provides the specialist equipment for the 30 Pro Tour professionals, the Continental Team Itera-Katusha, and also supplies the team’s younger cyclists in the U23 and U21 divisions. The vanguard will start with the Izalco Team frame which has been further improved for 2011 and includes a 3T Rigida fork.

The following components complete the bike: Continental tyres, SRAM Red gear components, Vision wheels and more high-end components from Team partners FSA, Prologo and Garmin.

Continental wishes Team Katusha every success and is looking forward to the 2011 Pro Tour season.
